Thanks, Li Chen, for this addition. Many of our Search And Rescue pilots and observers have been looking for the ability to practice with this feature. We appreciate your continued efforts to make simulation of this complex system affordable and accessible. Your software and hardware has made maintaining proficiency almost effortless.

    HI Li.

    Just have two questions.
    1. How do I access or install the Search and Rescue simulation (SAR).
    2. Why can’t I get the Magnetic Compass to operate, It lights up, blinks twice and then the light goes out. None of my inputs work during the calibration!?

      Hi Joseph,

SAR is included in the latest version of the MFD app. Please update the app to the latest version and you will see that option in the menu of the flight plan page. I doubt the compass is malfunctioning. When powering on, it should light up, rotate for one revolution and stop and light off. If it rotates 3 revolutions stop and flashes 3 times that means the sensor inside has failed. I will also send you an email about this.

First off, I love that this module has been added as it can be confusing to crews learning to set it up properly, but is anyone else having issues when setting up the SAR pattern and selecting right turns? On all of my iPads and everyone else that I’m instructing, it immediately crashes the app as soon as I select right turns, regardless of the pattern or any other options selected.

Hi Craig, I cannot reproduce this crash during my test. Could you send me an email to lichenpo@hotmail.com and let me know the steps to reproduce it?

I sent a video to Li Chen on this issue. I am seeing the same thing in new iPads and old iPads.

Thanks for the hard work on this Li! I tested and it’s working well. I’ve told everyone to update. Hopefully you’ve had some more sales with recent demo I did of your software! This is good stuff.

Hello, I am commenting here because I don’t know how to get in touch with you. I just purchased 2 bezels and running off and MFD with the bridge to MSFS. The autopilot buttons on the bezel will turn autopilot on in MSFS but do not control any autopilot functions such as mode (Heading/nav/apr/ Vs/alt ) etc.. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Doug, I’ve just replied your email. Basically, our G1000 is independent from the built-in one since the built-in autopilot is not fully implemented according to a real G1000.
